iOS7 has a great new visual design. However, some of the new app icons don’t feel as polished as they could be – and the new Safari icon is one of the worst offenders.

 

I personally feel that the new icon feels unfinished due to its white background, and it also sheds too much of the design from the old icon.

 

This icon is my attempt to create a Safari icon that fits the iOS7 aesthetic while also retaining more of the design elements from the iOS6 icon. It’s designed to fit Jony Ive’s grid system and fits the flat icon style.
