Digital painting exercise.
The goal of this exercise was honestly just unwinding. I love painting digitally, but I don't always have enough mental battery to attempt my own original pieces. Therefore, this year I want to do more master copy studies. I chose this one specifically because of the aesthetically pleasing contrast, and the beautiful play of light on the fabric of the dress. My goal was less so about accuracy and more about understanding the elements of the painting. Funnily enough I think my relaxed approach has allowed me to let go of my perfectionist tendencies and just enjoy the process more, and that in turn lent itself to a pretty satisfying end result.
