The Open Night Film Festival was born in June 1997 as a review of the most interesting achievements of Ukrainian cinema. Today the festival is a kind of laboratory for testing new ideas for domestic filmmakers and finding young talents who can become new faces of Ukrainian and world cinema.
On October 10, 2020, the Open Night website (opennight.org.ua) launched an interactive VR-interface of the catalog in the form of a starry sky and 8 animated portals leading to 8 collages of almost 160 digitized films. The project is called "Star Accelerator", you can learn more on Moviegram.
The opening ceremony of "Star Accelerator" took place in the form of an online concert by the band Minimum duo. The concert was accompanied by video art and animation performance, projection, lighting effects and multi-camera shooting.
