Pendants or Sculpture or Both?

Second stage for these works. In this case the addition of colour to the raw dried clay surface, underglazes are a blend of clay, frit, and colloidal suspenders infuse with colorants. Once first fired, they essentially retain these colours, although some will intensify, darken, be change by the heat work of the kiln. The next firing will involve glazes of various sorts to pull out the textures on the surfaces. The iconography is my synthesis of organic, inorganic, shapes and textures, imagined and real. The title for this begs the question of the status of these objects. For me they are at once both items of wearable  embellishment, but are complimentarily sculpture.
