I got this commission last October 2020, from a workmate who recommended me to her friend. I already made a couple of this painting before: (1) the first one was on a tote bag, then the (2)(3) second one, a smaller version, was on a pre-loved denim bag. Since I am already familiar (somehow) with its details, doing it again won't be a challenge anymore.
And that's what I've thought... Until the client gave me some references of psychedelic artworks: with varying colors and patterns, mostly in a pinkish hue. From those photos, came an opportunity for me to experiment with neon paints.
It took me until December to finish the artwork since our house got affected by the massive flooding from typhoon Ulysses.
The color changing effect was accidentally discovered when I turned on my RGB strip lights, giving it an incredibly psychedelic twist! It felt like the painting was alive and dancing.
I am planning to make more artworks using neon paints because of its eye-catching effect from the strip lights.
