Speculative Multisensory Headsets

For my work at Pratt Institute in Technology B, I focused on a speculative design project. In my speculative world, interpersonal touch is no longer possible because the world is in a state of constant pandemics. After researching touch deprivation, I decided that people in this world might try to deal with their lack of touch through stimulation of other senses. I designed three speculative multisensory headsets for three different classes of wealth as well as corresponding advertisements.
Each multisensory headset is made of different materials to reflect the desires of each wealth class. This headset is designed for the wealthy class, and I designed each poster with each class in mind as well.
This headset is designed for the middle class. It's not as fancy and has fewer options for the user.
This last headset is for the very poor. Here, the materials are uncomfortable rather than luxurious and the options are very limited for users.
To further understand this world, I created a few introductory materials.
This speculative world is highly tactile, so it seems likely that their language would reflect this. A translation of the Braille is below.
This chart applies much of my research on touch deprivation and how to cope. It also explains a lot about the speculative world itself.
These regulations further develop the speculative world.
