The core exploration comprised of using different viscosities of red, yellow and blue to observe their effects on colored a5 (5.8 × 8.3 inches) papers.
The process included placing the paper onto the paints and sketching out, thereby translating, a handful of photographs to obtain a mirror image.
The photographs used were made at my grandmother's house (Bordi, Maharashtra) over the course of three years documenting the village. The staircase was photographed inside the library at the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology, Ahmedabad.
The two images placed below are part of the abstract explorations undertaken without photographic references for the initial stages of the project.
