Handmade Paper
These are some examples of the paper I made during an internship with Roberto Mannino, a hand paper artist in Rome. I and two other students helped Mr. Mannino execute a large scale project ("HP25") for Hand Papermaking Magazine. While not assisting him with his giant sheets of paper, we three were allowed to experiment in the studio, by preparing our own fibers, mixing some very odd colors, and pulling as many sheets as we liked.
These have no inks or paint, all colors were produced with dyed paper pulp, and applied in different layers. Certain effects were created by sectioning off parts of the mould with a long, flexible strip of foam, and pouring colors into the sections.
