This watercolour on paper artwork is inspired by the life of Thai rice growers, farmers in general. As one of the Thai people, I have seen so much of struggling rice growers life. They have to fight poverty and hunger from generations to generations.
This watercolour on paper artwork is inspired by the life of Thai rice growers, farmers in general. As one of the Thai people, I have seen so much of struggling rice growers life. They have to fight poverty and hunger from generations to generations.
" Do you know how hard it is to grow the rice? Rice growers are so tired growing these rice for you, you have to eat it all in order to respect them. " This saying is what Thai adult tell their children when the children seem to not finish the rice on their plate. It is the main concept of this artwork.
I depict the moment of rice growers working on a sunny day. Another layer of my work is a tracing paper stuck by grains of rice as a metaphor of leftover rice on the plate. The border of my work is a watercolour painting of Chicken pattern plate, it is a famous plate pattern of Thailand.
