"Rhodes DanceSport from Grahamstown and Ta Mtshizz from Fort Beaufort will join forces to take on Anthea Moys in a ballroom dancing extravaganza. Rhodes DanceSport was started by Candice Ryan and Chris Rafael, who fell in love with dancing when they were seventeen, and started the club to provide an alternative to the usual extra-mural activities at Rhodes. Ta Mtshizz is a youth outreach programme launched by Ngamacirha Mtshizana, and there are currently 44 students enrolled in the programme. Both groups are coached by Thyla Matyumza. Anthea Moys took her first ballroom dancing lesson three months ago."

 

Anthea has always loved dancing, but competitive dancing is a whole different ball game. Over the course of 3 months Anthea learnt the Waltz, the Cha cha and the Jive. Anthea also suffers quite badly from extreme cases of stage fright and in her past she has often drawn a blank whilst on stage and has had to improvise. Luckily, this didnt really happen on the performance night, but she still did not gain any points and DanceSport and Ta Mtshizz walked away with both trophies adding two more points to the city of Grahamstown. Current score: 5:12.
