Black Lives Matter and Design Editorial Project

The objective of this brief is to write an essay and use it within an ediotiral. My question I will answer through the essay is “How Has Design Benefitted the Black Lives Matter Movement?”.

The Aim is to create:
- a 1500 word esssay
-a 16 page magazine

The Magazine will be attractive towards the target audience of mainly 18-24 year olds with the inclination for change towards social injustice but will applicable for anyone who is keeping up with the Black Lives Matter movement or design.
The design's will reflect the effects of the movement, the people involved and will have a cohesive, aesthetically bold visual language.

The target audience will be young adults, between the ages of 18-24. This is because it is the main group of
people who are avid social media users, this will mean they will have seen and have an opinion on the Black Lives
Matter movement that has been spread so widely across the online platform.
The designs will be trendy and eye catching to those of this age group but should be mature enough to pull in readers of ages above, and fun enough to the excite ages
below. I don’t want to single out a certain age group or type of person as everyone should be invested in the movement but not everyone will care about what design has done for it.
These are the illustrations I used after development and colour refinement.
