Shaman's Cave

The mountains of Japan are vast and difficult to move through. They became the home of those magicians, hermits, shamans, who preferred the drip of hidden waters to the chatter of neighbours, who preferred their own path to those set out by others. Perhaps they were saints, perhaps madmen. The wild makes us more and less than human. Nara Prefecture, Japan.
