Eco Money Packet

Personal project of eco-friendly money packets for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
As seen in Berita Harian as part of the Hari Raya Millennial feature.
From previous experience of making money packets, I found that there's unnecessary wastage due to the size of the packet. I designed the packets as small as possible to reduce wastage (size comparison in photo).
As Hari Raya is a yearly affair, I used recycled paper so the packets can be recycled if unwanted after one use.

Inkjet printing was used for sustainability & energy efficiency. Minimal design with the paper's natural colour as the background was chosen to reduce use of ink.
All packets are printed and assembled by hand.
The rough texture of the recycled paper also adds a tangible tactility to an otherwise taken-for-granted money giving tradition. The aim was to bring back sincere intentions in this age-old tradition through touch.
