THE 15 MINUTES DRESS

As a team, we had to create a garment in 15 minutes, out off as many simple white t-shirts we needed, refering to a Jeff Wall photography: After ‘Invisible Man’ by Ralph Ellison, the Prologue, 1999–2000.
The idea was to transpose the visual composition of the photography into a garment; a garment that, in the end, could be read the same way Wall's photography could; the composition of both elements reduced to an oppressing, solid bloc in the upper part, and a lighter, more spacious area in the bottom.

LA ROBE EN 15 MINUTES

En équipe, nous devions créer un vêtement en 15 minutes, d'après une photographie de Jeff Wall: After ‘Invisible Man’ by Ralph Ellison, the Prologue, 1999–2000. Pour ce faire, nous avions à notre disposition autant de chandails blancs que nécessaire.
L'idée ici était pour nous de réduire la photogrpahie de Jeff Wall à ses deux éléments les plus simples, et de les transposer sur la robe. Nous obtenons ici, selon notre lecture, un bloc oppressant, solide dans la partie supérieure, puis un espace plus aéré, plus léger dans le bas.
