Rhode Island salvaged hard maple / Steel rectangular tubing

I am currently working with a small quantity of salvaged slabs from recent east coast storms. This maple slab fell during a storm and was saved from becoming mulch and firewood. It is 46" wide at the widest point, 30" at the narrowest point, and 126" long. The slab contains a bark inclusion, which is where two trunks come together at the base of a tree. We flattened this slab using a router jig, making this flatter than if we hand planed it by eye. No finish has been applied yet, but we plan to skip the stain and just do a non-yellowing clear coat.

The custom steel base of an original design is fabricated from heavy duty 12 gauge steel tubing. The base has also been left in a raw metal state, but can be powdercoated to a range of colors.
