A book discovery app for moms with young kids

Book discoveries are one of my favorite things so I was really excited to see this prompt! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a good app for myself outside of Goodreads so hopefully this mini research exercise could help me find a new one.
There's a pretty big market for book related apps so I laid out a few of the major categories and players.

- SCRIBD — THE BEST SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE APP FOR BOOK LOVERS
- MARVIN 3 — THE BEST APP FOR READING DRM-FREE FILES
- EPIC! — THE BEST APP FOR YOUNG READERS
- COMIXOLOGY — THE BEST APP FOR COMIC BOOK LOVERS
- LIBBY BY OVERDRIVE — THE BEST LIBRARY APP
- GOODREADS — THE BEST SOCIAL APP FOR BOOK LOVERS
- BLINKIST — THE BEST APP FOR BOOK LOVERS WHO DON’T HAVE TIME TO READ
- AUDIBLE — THE BEST AUDIOBOOKS APP
- AMAZON KINDLE — THE BEST APP FOR BOOKS
Looking at EPIC specifically, it's listed as an app for kids 12 years and younger which informs how they lay out their content. It's bright and engaging. It feels like a candy store or a toy box, which is great for young and budding readers. It also includes a dashboard where they can connect with their teachers and they can record their readings for class. Overall, it's well designed and well loved.

Since EPIC exists and succeeds in this space, instead of building a standalone app for the parents with young kids I would add an account for parents on EPIC. It can recommend books based on the things their kids read, it can keep the parents up to date on new books for their child's specific reading level and it works within a cohesive ecosystem that already exists.
