The Perception of Living a Happy Life

The Perception of Living a Happy Life is a book I have compiled that tackles this simple yet complex question. We all know what happiness is but sometimes have trouble finding it. I break up the book up into three questions. "What does it mean to be Happy?", "What does it mean to be successful?", and "How to find purpose?". These are all broad spectrums that can have multiple answers but I feel each one is represented well.

Sprint Exercise
Once I came to this idea I began with a few 5 minute sprinting exercises to get ideas flowing. I wanted to be able to break out of the idea I already had in my head on how I wanted to do this project. I wanted to open up my horizon and not limit myself. I played with color palettes, font families, paragraph styles and image to type relation. These are a few of the many I did.
Audience/Moodboard
Next I defined who I wanted my audience to be. I wanted it to be for people who are having trouble finding happiness or purpose in their life. I wanted to help them see what in their life is important or what they could do to change and live a more joyful and fulfilled life. As I said "I believe happiness comes from fulfillment and with fulfillment comes success. Once I found my target audience I created a mood board. I wanted to base my book designs off the general aesthetic of my moodboard. I had come to the idea that pastels for a color palette would push my concept in the direction I wanted, and instead of black headers I would use a navy blue to keep a softer feel. I also knew I wanted to include uplifting quotes like the Jim Carrey quote throughout my book.
