When I was in kindergarten I threw my first "pot". It was a terra cotta candle holder. I still have it and have been throwing on and off throughout my life ever since.
Sitting at the wheel with slick soft clay moving between my fingers is a familiar meditation. One must be centered within in order to stay centered without, and I value this teaching I receive through the clay each time I sit down at the wheel.
