Years ago a friend of mine found a turtle shell in the woods. She cut the sections with a saw and made earrings out of them for me. I've always loved the shape of these turtle scales, and much of my work over the years has reflected my affection for this shape.
This set is made primary from recycled copper sheets that I pulled out of a cardboard box taller than me... at the Biltmore Village scrap yard in Asheville, North Carolina.
