Kamaicha
The Kamaicha is a quaint and unique musical instrument made and played by the the Manganiyar people. The body of this ancient bow-and-strings instrument is made of mango-wood. The hollow and rounded part of the Kamaicha is made of goat-skin. It has 17 strings, out of which 3 are made of goat intestines while the remaining are made of steel. The bow used is made of horse-hair! This rare instrument is a specialty of the desert-culture of Barmer and Jaisalmer.
