GEOMETRIC SURFACE PATTERN DESIGN
OBJECTIVE: Explore geometric shapes and create two different surface patterns that could be used on a variety of objects or textiles.
For this project I used summer as my inspiration. The design on the left was modeled after shells found at the beach. Each one has several layers that give the shell shape its texture. The design on the right is reminiscent of fireworks and popsicles. I love quilting with hexagons and the combination with a traditional sawtooth star gives this design a modern heirloom feel.
