[Wine Labels] Vina do Val

This was my first wine label design at ACE Distributing in 2017, a redesign of a label they've had since 2009. The old label was too ancient-looking, and my managers wanted a more simple, modern design. Vina do Val is an affordable Spanish wine, so they wanted the new label to make it appear more fancy, to convey that just because it's cheap, it doesn't mean it can't be enjoyed as well as an expensive wine.

To start, the general manager made a quick mock-up in Publisher of what he wanted the label to look like, and I refined the design from that. His mock-up was a simple background of a vineyard at sunset with all the text in a typical serif font. I love sunsets myself, so I used the best vineyard I could find that had those beautiful sunset colors. For the font, I went with Trajan Pro because it easily conveys that feeling of "fancy", without being too pretentious or hard to read at a glance.
After finishing the Red Blend, we edited the colors to create a series with a White Blend and a Rosé Blend. While this was a fairly simple design, I definitely like how it came out, and I think it's much better than the original.
