A few Plein air landscapes from the middle of the pandemic.
Both are completed on gessoed Masonite with palette knife in oil. These were my first attempt at oil painting on plein air, and have changed my perspective of landscape painting forever.
The process began with brush outlines and general compositional lines being laid upon the surface. Colors are built from sky to ground, adding highlights to finsih the piece itself.
