Culture Shift Conference Branding

Design Problem & Background

Culture Shift is a national convening for social imagination, organized by the U.S. Department of Arts and Culture. This event brings together artists, organizers, and allies to participate in workshops that inspire creativity, build skills, and connect people across cultures.

The seedling for the idea of this project came during the time of coronavirus and disconnection from other humans. Finding this event online inspired me to think about what the conference materials would look like for 2020.
Design Solution

Wanting to attract artists and activists to this event led me to the idea of using scribbled marker patterns as a visual theme. Shifting culture is not linear, so the visuals evoke a sense of movement and change that’s a little messy. The colors are bright and hopeful.
