Photography and photographic curation

02 Editorial design: Photographic curation
Summary
The aim of this project is to form a curated selection of self-generated photographs. Visual qualities such as shape, texture, tonal values, pattern and colour may be explored. The selection must not have an obvious narrative as it is for the viewer to determine their own story through the artwork. Therefore, it is required to stay as abstract as possible
Deliverables
5 images consisting of 3 greyscale documentary photos and 2 greyscale (or colour) fashion photos.
Rationale
My final curation consists of one fashion image depicting form and shape and the other styled image depicting colour, tone and pattern. The three documentary images each depict the following: documentary image 1 shows colour tone and pattern. Documentary image 2 shows pattern, shape and texture. Lastly, documentary image 3 depicts pattern and form.  The decision to make the first documentary image colour was intentional, as the natural light and colour of the workshop and machines was too beautiful to convert to greyscale. It pairs well with the fashion image of the two girls out in the garden... with a yellow tinted plastic wrapper over the lens!
