Color & Light Exhibition Posters

"Color & Light" Exhibition
For Carlos Cruz Diez

Class: Designing With Color
RISD Fall 2020

We were asked to choose an artist and create posters inspired by his work - particularly his choice of color; thus, I designed multiple hypothetical posters for a "Color & Light" exhibition that will be showcasing Carlos Cruz Diez's work at the MoMa. I also designed the tickets that would be purchased for the event.

The color and light effect manifests in Diez's work as a result of his peculiar color and shape decisions. He positions color in a way that allows basic shapes such as circles and rectangles to engage with one another.

I wanted to generate a dimensional space in my poster designs that's inspired by his installation work (which is noted for its fluorescent colors and engaging quality). My poster designs were particularly driven by the image above (far right) which is from Diez’s “Chroma” exhibition at the SCAD Museum of Art in 2017.
