02 Editorial Design: Photographic Curation

Summary:

The aim of this project is to draw a narrative through a panoramic photographic display. Visual qualities such as shape, texture, tonal values, pattern and colour may be explored. These qualities along with visual content work together to form a visual sequence and to tell a story.

List of deliverables:

- A series of 5 images comprising of:

- 3 greyscale documentary photos

- 2 greyscale (or colour) fashion photos

Rationale:

My selection of photographs aimed to display many flavours of cultures and the inhabitants of Pretoria (City of Tshwane). Quiet and busy moments as well as triangular shapes are curated in a way that sets a mood of dramatic motion and silence.

The dove in the center of the curation is an anchor to the collection and adds meaning to the surrounding moments.
