America has traditionally been referred to as a “melting pot,” because it is made up of many citizens with ancestors from many parts of the world, all with different backgrounds, traditions, languages and customs. And yet, despite many decades of this growing diversity among its population, racial inequality and injustice in America is still a serious problem. K.E.D. Kit is designed to create an experience that simplifies and makes the concept of diversity accessible, so that children are able to respect and celebrate each other’s differences.
