STUDENT CO-LIVING SPACE

BRIEF
A Co-living student housing project with a major focus on the most important factors of a house: natural light, ventilation, green spaces, and human interaction. Bringing the community together as a whole.
INTENT
To create housing for the students coming to the city for education form different parts of the country, with a focus on interactive spaces, and multiple activities combined in one structure.
The site is located in Pune city, on the major highway facing towards the north and open land from three sides, bringing in the major winds from the west.

DESIGN
Open Passages on terraces, staircases, overlooking spaces, rooftop gardens ensure incorporating nature into the structure of the building. With a porch and a backyard, each balcony is converted into a garden containing sunk up the slab on each floor.
Visual connection is major incorporation to encourage movement and attracts. The frames create a uniformity giving form to the building. 
Each unit is a duplex. These duplexes also allow the spaces to be divided into different zones while the lower part acts as a semi-public area with kitchen, dining and living. The upper part acts as a private area, with bedroom, study and toilet.
