Mini Archival Zines
Live Exhibition Brief at UCA
Exhibition and group project brief featuring archival material presented from the collection of Nijhof & Lee.

BRIEF AIMS
To promote and reactivate the archive as a site of interest. As part of a live brief and group competition, our final outcome was selected to be part of an exhibition held in the corridor space of the Link Gallery at UCA in December 2017 (see group rational below).

Using archive design magazines Emigre (issue 38) and Dot Dot Dot (issue 01), we decided to re-create mini zine replicas of the original issues using our own interpretations of the content inside by annotating our thoughts and favourite parts, and by creating photographic collages from images in original magazines and personal photography.
Our mini zines displayed next to our documentary video (see video below) at the exhibition
Our rationale that was displayed with our project for the exhibition
We also made a documentary video to display at the exhibition showing our process creating the mini zines and of us flipping through the pages of both the originals and remade zines.
Storyboard
