.edu: Conversations about higher education was my thesis and BFA gallery instillation. It was a crowd sourced critique of the higher education system.  I felt that there was a lack of connection between what is taught in higher ed, and what is needed to survive in the real world (post graduation), and wanted to crowd source opinions.  

 

To do so, I built an application to compile tweets from selected hash tags, and put up a blackboard, where people of all ages could write about their experiences-which proved to be immensely popular.  (So much so, that I had to keep adding to it each day to expand the surface area.) 

 

Users could also tweet at the hashtag, and have their tweets be broadcast on a monitor seen in photos on the right. The projector displays the primary content, consisting of the promises higher education makes to students, and provides resources to guide students on their journey after college.
