This is a recent Smart Van interface design for our ‘smart spaces’ project 💡 We were briefed to make a unique space smart by means of different technology connected seamlessly by a system we would design 🧠 I chose a van intended for longterm living, therefore a system that would allow one to comfortably control and monitor all that goes into this off-grid lifestyle such as electricity, water, security and living modes 🚌 With limited space as a characteristic, I decided to combine a smart mirror as the primary interface with a mobile app as supplementary 📱⚪️ The smart mirror lends itself to the multi-functioning nature of the space while still giving a sense of luxury and ease of use✨ especially when compared to typical control panels in vans today...swipe all the way right 🙈 it was great expanding my understanding of interaction design in this way 🙏🏼

This prototype aims to display the different flows while living in the van as well as how the primary (smart mirror) and secondary (mobile app) interfaces work in conjunction 🙏🏼

UX research for the Smart Van 🚌 this was one of the most valuable applications of user experience design I’ve done to date 🙏🏼 it was extremely beneficial to consider the users routine and navigation in a space compared to just on an app or a website 💭 3D rendering the van was also helpful for getting into the user’s shoes 👟 ⏰ Whimiscal was used for all diagrams 👌🏼
