A collaboration with Joy Lu.
We both enjoyed the natural and modest elegancy of wood furniture, and our shared appreciation and different skill sets prompted us to collaborate on making a wooden side table.
For the material, Red Oak was picked for the core components, which contributes to establishing a warm and welcoming character.
Walnut was applied for ornamentation and contrast of color.
We searched for inspirations and sketched out several ideas based on our aesthetics. After evaluating our own needs and the limitation of the given time frame, we arrived at the design of a 36-inch tall side table with two drawers and a bottom shelf for placing items.
