The Museum of African Art’s new Manhattan home was designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects with a distinctive window pattern, based on African textiles and domiciles. Branding experts Bobby Martin and Jennifer Kinon (The Original Champions of Design) were inspired to tie the museum’s entire visual presnce together, by translating this graphic element into typographic form. I refined their rough logotype concept and carried it through to a custom type family. See the full identity system on OCD’s site.
