Srivathsan's home : 2020

It’s a dream for Mr. Srivatsan to design his home. He loves it to look close to nature but also quite contemporary & colourful.

All parts of the proposed design are toxic free & eco friendly. It lasts a lifetime.

Choosing design services from ‘The Bobbin project’ saves good material from landing into the landfill & a decor that is warm, child safe & healthy for you & the environment.

Wood warms up a living room like no other material. Creating a feature wall from pallet wood cladding is an eye puller & immediately puts the user at ease & washes over the feeling of home. All pallet wood used here is heat treated & brushed with linseed oil to keep the termites & insects away. Each pallet board tells a story of its own, keeping the user visually engaged & stimulated. It provides very many opportunities to quickly change the look of the space with finishes & memories. This increases the life of the design scheme.
A wall mounted dining table made from pallets. A meal on this table transports us back to a countryside farmhouse, a holiday in your own home.
Quirky details of the Indian carving only adds to the warmth of the space
A window that lets the sun in, indoor plants that soak up the sun & release more oxygen into the indoor air is a treat to catch up over chess on these coy fabric lined butterfly chairs
A reading nook bang opposite the window is a get away right in the middle of the living room. It brings a young & playful ring to the warm home. This cane furniture was sourced directly from the artisans in Tamil Nadu, India supporting their livelihood while also conserving the environment.
One of the bedrooms was converted into a designer's studio. Every part of this studio is upcycled & is designed to allow for maximum flexibility in space utility in order to be used as a workshop when necessary.
