Master copies are a great way to study another artist’s work that you admire. It’s a great way to learn about figuring out the artist’s process of how they chose certain values, shapes, and colors. This piece reminded me of how much I loved painting with water colors in highschool. The building up of darker values and placing simple, lightly washed strokes for the light areas is so relaxing.
