Title: Mend
Media: Acrylic
Description: Recovering from a trauma often comes with doubts, hard questions, physical and emotional pain. The first visualization of a victim is the unanticipated broken dreams. The falling birds (metaphor of a soul) show the trauma and hurt. The bandage on them represents the requirements of hard efforts to reshuffle and alter shattered dreams and ambitions.
Title: The Journey
Media: Acrylic
Description: The series of butterflies in verge of spreading wings depict consistent growth. (The butterfly is one of the most symbolic animals associated with personal transformation) This is a reminder to the burn survivors that their scars do not define them - yet the stories behind it can offer a powerful path towards healing. Sharing the stories of their journey- even while their in the midst of it- can renew everyone’s strength and inspire others.
Title: Phoenix
Media: Acrylic
Description: The phoenix appeared in Egyptian and Greek mythologies as a bird that burst into flames upon death and was reborn in the ashes. To many Phoenix may represent a new beginning, that no matter how bad things may get you will get back up on your feet. Always pick yourself up when you are down.
This year at Art for Cause, we’re painting the hidden stories behind the depths of the fire. With every stroke, we hope to capture the hardships faced by those trapped in dilapidated skyscrapers, looking for a way out.
Let’s raise awareness about the importance of the fire safety, stand with the family members who lost their loved ones to the wrath of the flames, cherish the hard work of the fire fighters who rescued the others and advocate to strengthen the fire management system in Bangladesh.
Be a part of the cause.
