Selected drawings from Spring 2013.
A mixture of white china marker on black board and caran d'ache crayons on masonite, the media allowed me to layer repeatedly, building up the image very gradually.
Working without my contacts or glasses on a few pieces ( my eyesight is abysmal!) helped me to see the larger tonal masses and how they fit together. In letting go of the detail that I couldn't see, the pieces became more of a reaction to my environment and less of a representation of a visual reality.
All nude figure studies were completed in class; the rest were done outside of class.
