Legoland - 3D modelling

Stoke Ripley Creative - Lego Group
Overview: I was hired as an in-house freelance specialist for a creative agency within Pinewood studios, working within a busy fast paced environment, often on several projects at once. They utilised my specialist skills in 3D Modelling, Animation, & Motion Graphics, on a number of projects dealing with some of their biggest clients such as the Lego group, the InHealth group, and Origin bi-fold doors. It was a valuable experience as an artist, as well as a freelancer and small business owner.

Goals: Successfully head the design of Legoland's promotional campaign while staying on brief and sticking to brand guidelines.

My Role: 3D Modeller & Graphic Designer
Tools: Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Maya
Rides
I researched the most popular and iconic rides from Legoland theme parks across the globe as each theme park varies in its selection of rides, while specific rides have slight visual differences at each location.
Modelling
I combined the most notable variations of each iconic ride in my designs before proceeding to build them as 3D models using Maya. We went through some minor trail and error before we could calculate the perfect angles needed for the banner design. After rendering the models at the required angles in high quality, I then assisted the rest of the team with the remaining graphic design and illustration work. The centre piece design was displayed on the large scale banners and posters in and outside the theme park.
Design
I was also provided with digital assets from the Lego group them selves such as mini figure models to rig, pose and render for use throughout maps, leaflets and various other print materials distributed around the theme parks
