Parental Values

“A father’s goodness is higher than the mountain, a mother’s goodness deeper than the sea.” - Japanese Proverb

When it comes to relationships of family, parents develop that unconditional love for their children even at the toughest times. No matter the situation, parents try their best to support, care, and love for their family at the very least.

For this series, I am presenting images that document the perspective of what an everyday life is like for my parents, featuring my father as the main subject for this practical. From simple tasks such as always working early, to making sure we're wearing our mask due to the pandemic, every act of care and support that parents display for their families helps us as young adults to take into consideration step by step, as we continue to grow. Within the consideration, the strong bond between family members beneficially helps us to also create new memories in our everyday lives.

I decided to photograph these specific series’ from different times of the day of my father because I like how it creates a variety of hardworking elemental case scenarios, based on a parents point of view. Every parent and family is different and special in their own way because it best displays how unique and personalized family culture is like.

What I learned about my father and my mother in general is that they’re always hard working in everything they do. There are many things that I learned along the way while I was taking these photo series, that helped me appreciate and understand how much I should take into consideration of my wonderful parents.
