Sketch of the monument called Forte Michelangelo, it is located in the city of Civitavecchia, the city where I grew up.
To never forget where I come from.

The fortress was begun in 1508 and completed in 1537 under the pontificate of Paul III.

A local tradition without comparisons would have it that the keep, that is the main tower of the fortress, was designed by Michelangelo Buonarroti, hence the name of Forte Michelangelo.
