The goal of this project was to develop digital compositions that demonstrate visual unity while effectively communicating the design principles of symmetry. These compositions were created using found objects in nature to create images depicting reflection, rotation, translation, and glide reflection. All were created using Adobe indesign and photoshop. Items used for the exploration of symmetry
Reflection: when a shape or object is reflected over an axis to create a mirrored image
Rotation: a shape has when it has been duplicated after a partial turn from a specific axis
Translation: to move an object from on place to another without rotating or scaling it
Glide reflection: reflecting a shape over a line and then translating it along that line
