hansel and gretel story illustration

to begin the project, i chose the Hansel and Gretel story to create images about the plot. i decided to make it seem as if they were all friendly and making smore's around the fire. first i decided to find an image of a forest for the traditional story line setting. i then added a camp fire image in the center and used a layer mask to make it blend more with the ground.
the next thing i did was adding a blind witch image and made it seem as if she was roasting a marshmallow. i then added a little boy (hansel) and made it seem if ha was also roasting a marshmallow in the fire. lastly i added an image of a little girl (gretel). then i put in logs on the side to tie the whole idea together with adding bags of marshmallows and chocolate for smores.
to begin the next addition to the story i decided to create a gingerbread house. to begin i found an image of a ginger bread house online and placed it in between other houses. once i cleaned it up, i added a filter by clicking filter the filter gallery. i used the cutout filter to edit the image look.
next, to continue the storyline i added a pebble road along the sidewalk using a layer mask. i also cleaned up the house along the plants with a layer mask to make it look more realistic.
last, i added hansel and gretel to the images story to tie it together. i then used the same filter on them as i did for the house.
for the last image for the plot of the story, i found two imaged of a boy and girl shilouette. i faced them away from each other but overlapping since they both went through different but similar times in the house. i also chose a dark forest at night to add a connection to the story line.
next, i found two images relating to the hansel&gretel story; the blind witch and a candy house. i then used the layer mask tool to make it seem as if one could see what the boy and girl were thinking of.
last, i put an outer glow on the boy and girl image to seem as if their thoughts were radiating. i also changed the forest background to a darker look than the blue tinted forest in order for all the colors to tie together more.
