The beautiful kalamkari dupatta which was passed on from a grandmother to her grand daughter is made from natural dyes and is hand embroidered by the family. Its natural yet vibrant colours makes it one of its kind.
Through my concept and styling, I have intended to express the intricacy and the beauty of this preserved heirloom item.
C O N C E P T : MODERN DAY WANDERER
Inspired by Rajasthani banjarans and kalighat paintings. Their vibrant colours and aesthetic. Styled in regard to a bold indo-western look, which reminds us of the beautiful colours in our culture, excavating architectures of Rajasthan. A young, fearless and thoughtful wanderer on the streets, capturing pictures and making memories.
The model has been styled in a cropped sweat shirt with a pair of palazzos with the dupatta tucked in with a belt like a half skirt making it creatively indo-western.
