Collages for Kitsch therapy exibition

I was invited to make a few collages for a group exibition "Kitsch therapy" that took place in Polet gallery in Belgrade, February 2020. I scanned photos from my family album to make this three "wine covers" collages as my own experience of kitsch inspired by those plain mugs with prints of your family photos on them.

"The use of one's own experience of kitsch and its connection with the work itself is conceived as a moment of liberating the artist through participation in something that is connected with the so-called by the negation of art. Playing with distaste, exaggeration and our own acceptance of the ugly and expressed sentimentality towards something that is presented to us as undesirable. We can also perceive kitsch as a reflection of ugliness and inconsistency, predictable pathos, but the idea is to get rid of it, indulge in glimmering fears and actually show art." - Lenka Ilić, curator
