The project: Create an elevated product experience for Nike's Athletes at the 2016 Rio Games. This product was both promo and retail during the 2016 Olympics.

Taking inspiration from naturally-occurring folding patterns, I was able to engineer a reinforcing geometric pattern that allowed the bag to self-pleat while being cinched closed.
Hand-built mockups to explore viability of the self-organizing closure.
Trial with inclusion of elastic yarns into pattern.
