The MMLM streams are a chance to explore the possibilities of logo animation. I ask viewers to send in logos and spend a mere 2 hours bringing them to life, and talking about the process. So maybe it's more like 1 hour of work.

Designer Sam Miles sent in his logo, and we took it in a few directions over the stream.

Sam's has this lovely S shape that lends itself to some more retro methods and patterning. We tried to do something simple to show off what's already great about the logo.

The S shape also provided some opportunity for a little optical illusion. The positive and negative space gives us some latitude for interesting reveals.

Alternatively, there can be some options for comedy. A rejected concept of the S as a characters came up, but ultimately was not worth exploring.
