SCULPTED RESIDENCE

“Sculpture is the art of intelligence” - Pablo Picasso

Conceived as a home that celebrates tranquil minimalism, the concept of SCULPT relies on curved forms to emphasize the free-flow and seamless transition between spaces. Right from the foyer to the bedroom, sculpted forms and the use of natural materials such as limestone, rattan, terrazzo and rammed earth to further allow the residents to introspect and revive their connection with nature. All the materials used in the home are indigenous to India to ensure their authenticity and simplicity in purest form. The living room is finished in textured plastered walls that are chamfered at corners with vertical fluting details that merge seamlessly with the ceiling using a semi-barrel vault cove detail, eliciting a feeling of calmness and
continuity. Large rattan panels and a rounded floor to ceiling bookshelf finished in walnut wood make for a quaint, functional study room that is unobtrusively tucked away from the rest of home for a refined reflective experience. The sculptural quality of the furniture, objects and art selected explores both modern and
timeless pieces that effortlessly blend in with the structural elements of the space.  In an attempt to create a home that transcends trends and genres, SCLUPT ultimately strives to evoke a feeling of harmony, intimacy and most importantly, peace.
