I was recently in Uganda for two and a half weeks. I was with Essubi Arts, a small organization started by a friend from church. We partnered with New Hope Uganda, a local organization whose mission is to be the father to the fatherless by providing family, schooling and love for children living with orphaned hearts. On our trip we sought to bring the arts as a way to help open doors between the staff and the kids for healing. 

 

This was one of our projects. Based on the book I made for the kids I tutor in Providence, we had the kids draw themselves as they see themselves now and then on the other side of the page what they want to be when they are older.

I made a few copies of the books to send back to Uganda, my teammate Leslie was still there and photographed everyone looking at the books.
