Rief description of project:

Rusanivka.

          Realizing the role of urban planning for proper development and organization of urban space, actual and rational is scientifically-based use of embankments territories, in particular – consideration of the existing potential for application of future architectural solutions.

              Rusanivs’ka naberezhna is a potential territory for becoming the main attraction spot in the city.

              The main function of the city promenade is walking. To attract pedestrians, the location should be comfortable, safe, and useful for walking, and more than interesting. Pedestrians like when they are entertained and if they have a choice, they won’t choose to go uninteresting road the second time. "

              Our functional solution of Rusanivs’ka naberezhna based on this principle of Jeff Heat. Transforming into an individual solution for each of population categories, in particular- a creation of the secular, park, natural, sports, children's, fishing, beach, and commercial areas.

          The main park activity is concentrated along the secular zone, which is developing the established activity areas, and forming a walking promenade. The architectural dominant of this place is a street cinema- lecture hall, equipped with an interactive fountain, which will dynamically complement motion pictures. 

              On the lower part of the waterfront, we situated the pier of river transport with a viewing platform, light musical fountain, recreation area, cycle path, and noise bar of green spaces. The main attraction point of  this zone is the chess pavilion.

              In the natural zone of preserved existing landscapes, flora and fauna, and renew zones for an active rest. We planned to create a zone with pavilions and zones for fireplaces, cross-country ski routes and created some viewing points platforms.

              The specified objects can be modified, depending on the season, event, time of day, to maximize the use of the location.

              Sport zones are connected by “ climbing route” and also we created “ Runner route “ with own navigation.

          Children's area consists of a two-level playground, in which the 1-st level -  sports area for compatible outdoor activities for Parents + Children’s, and the 2-nd level are all for children - playground. The infrastructure of the game zone leaves space for imagination and provides uses for different scenarios of games.

              The Beach area features a sandy beach with sun loungers, sports facilities: volleyball, basketball, fitness, yoga, and others.

         In the Commercial zone, all extension is removed and a single design code is introduced, which provides for the ordering of signage and the release of windows from advertising structures. Planned greening of every sixth parking lots, resistant to reagents, to create additional noise protection.

              Conceptual ideas are based on pre-project analysis of the Territory, which contained:

-       historical research;

-       Study of literary sources and open data on population density, infrastructure, environment, air and noise level;

-       field studies which are base of the structure of the main characteristic incisions with elevation differences and the nature of the relief;

-       Research on pedestrian infrastructure and pedestrian traffic.

          The final stage was the creation of a design concept of the entire Rusanivs’ka naberezhna, the waterfront logo, and the concept of pedestrian navigation, which provides for the index of directions, information pointers with the names of plants and stands with a map.

              The concept of landscaping Rusanivs’ka naberezhna is designed to preserve and articulate the unique identity of the place, creating a comfortable environment for citizens and providing year-round use of the territory, taking into account the existing elements of greenery, landscaping and planning scheme. Particular attention was paid to the formation of a multifunctional space, which would correspond to the needs of each visitor.
